At Richard Mountney Photography, we help our clients turn creative ideas into high-quality visual content. Over the years, Richard has handled everything from photographing wild animals in close-up to shooting landscapes in a New York blizzard. The key, he says, is not to panic.

With decades of experience, Richard has tackled just about every photographic challenge. His natural evolution into video and commercials has led to stunning results across multiple formats, from print to digital to TV.

He works from a fully equipped studio in Edinburgh and handles all retouching in-house. He is also internationally experienced and available for location work worldwide.

Richard’s Story

Richard began his career at art school in the 1970s and honed his craft in London using large-format 10×8 and 5×4 film cameras, and fondly remembered pub lunches while waiting for film to come back from the lab. Today, he fully embraces the digital era, offering clients the benefits of fast turnaround and full in-house control from shoot to final image.
